DJ / Producer
Raised in the hard urban sprawl of Oakland, California, Leon quickly
found his love of music as a way out through DJ´ing, and is living
proof that determination, desire, and hard work do pay off. From his
beginning at Oakland’s KALX radio station, Neon Leon has shown
incredible progress, his experience and will to succeed overcoming the
obstacles that often leave others far behind. In San Francisco, his
position as one of the city’s most prolific DJ´s has allowed
him to spread his gospel of mind and body moving house music to thousands
of devoted clubgoers, while still staying absolutely true to the underground
he fights to protect.
1993 saw Leon unleash his hidden talents as a vocalist, with releases
on San Francisco’s N – Fusion Records and NYC’s Strictly
Rhythm. Plans are underway on a project that will shine with a full
vocal cut of Leon’s, as well as an E.P. full of sinister trax.
Unlike most, Neon Leon is not one to stand motionless; he is a crowd
pleaser, feeling the music and grooving behind the turntables. He also
prides himself as being a „ Architect of Sound“. A technique
utilizing dubs, beats, accapellas and full vocals to create complex
layers of rhythm to take his crowd higher.
As a by – product of being such a popular DJ, Leon had the opportunity
to do remix work for Art of Mix (SF), along with a series of radio mix
shows and reels for Bay Area stations like KMEL and WILD 107 FM.
Following a successful tour of Britain in the winter of 1993, Leon
then went on to move masses of party people during a month long tour
of Germany. He returned to the UK for an extended tour in the summer
of 1995. At the moment Leon is living in Cologne, Germany where he hosts
his weekly club night. Still keeping in touch with home, Leon sends
back mix – tapes for a monthly radio show on KMEL.
Certainly he will continue with his love, DJ´ing, but is now
concentrating on his vocal skills and stirring things up in his own
studio.
Never being one to look back, Leon presses ever forward, implementing
his knowledge and talent to climb higher and higher, without ever leaving
what is truly underground.

master session. Keep in mind, this site is a completely non-profit
DJ, Real
Networks, and a generous web_slave
supported internet radio station. The 3 geographically dispersed
Helix Real Media servers can handle around 15, 000 - 30,000 simultaneous
streams broadcasting anywhere from 8kb-125kb video as well as audio
feeds to the world. Some FM radio stations throughout Europe and the
Asia-Pacific area and a couple of US based radio stations also rebroadcast
the feed occasionally on the FM dial.
